Katie's Day a Huge Success

Picture
April, 13, 2013 turned out to be a perfect day for the second Annual Katie's Day. A perfect spring day brought out hundreds of Operation Katie supporters from all over. Patrons enjoyed an absolute beautifulday filled with great music, food, games, contests, and good old fashion fellowship. The success of Katie's day is something that should make everyone feel very proud to be a part of such a great community and project. People came as far as Tennessee to show support for Katie Bledsoe and family. At 11:00am supporters began arriving early to Katie's day to show support and by 2:00pm Fisher River Park was packed. Whether it was children, playing games or playing on the inflatable toys, listening to great music, people participating in the corn hole tournament, or people lining up at a shot to drop Sherriff Graham Atkinson into the freezing water of the dunking booth everyone had a great time. At the end of the day Operation Katie raised a grand total of $25,056 in support of Operation Katie. The team of Operation Katie and family of Katie Bledsoe would like to thank everyone for their support towards the completion of building Katie a brand new handicap accessible home.

Operation Katie Port A Pit Fundraiser raises $5,000.00 and sells 1000 plates

Picture
On an icy cold wet day the Dobson and surrounding communities
came out in full force in support of Operation Katie. On the scene at 4am Casey
Mitchell and Josh Comer met with Port A Pit out of Statesville, NC to start the
working on the 800 plate pre orders. Around 11am cars began rolling up to pick
up their orders, buy T-Shirts, give donations, and most importantly show support
for Katie and the Bledsoe Family. Over 30 volunteers helped throughout the day
and by the time the Chicken ran out we had raised $5,000.00 and sold over 1000
plates to support Operation Katie. Because of everyones continued support towards Operation Katie we aer now approaching our goal of $125,000.  To date we have received $52,832.41 in donations. We are still a ways off from our goal of $125,000 but with your continued support we will start construction very soon.  Thank you and Bless you everyone.
